Beer and Jyhad-night

Yesterday a jolly bunch gathered at Alex's place for some beer and Jyhad. I won the first game but was never even fighting for the win in the last two games. Maybe because of these:

Rochefort 10
Belgium
ABV: 11.3%
Rating: 4
A very rich and tasteful beer. Clear and nice almond notes. The heavy alcohol taste is growing during the experience but is never a problem. It's hard to tell why but some beer can have a heavy alcohol taste and still be great. Rochefort 10 is one of them.

Midtfyns Imperial Stout
Denmark
ABV: 9,5%
Rating: 4
Tastes like butterscotch and smokey tar. After a while the smokiness alters and reminds more of tobacco. A very pleasant drinking and I have to drink more Imperial Stouts.

Oppigårds Amarillo Spring
Sweden
ABV: 5.9%
Rating: 5
This is labeled an American Pale Ale but I find this the perfect IPA and finally I can rest easy not giving Sierra Nevada Torpedo a rating of 5. This ale is a perfect mix between the bitter Amarillo hop and sweetness. After a while notes of honey finds their way trough. Perfect.

  1. The Rochefort 10 really should get an extra .5 considering the St Pauli logo in the background ^^

I seem to have missed tasting the Oppigård ale so I'll make sure to buy it and try it soon.
